What a tempting gadget! It's so true that, with a bizarre trend of getting bigger and wider in notebook size, it has become hard to say it's "notebook" or portable, despite its another bizarre and somewhat wasting competition to be thinner. MacBook Air - maybe it's the thinnest among all notebooks, but without all the connectivity channels, such as usb ports, cd/dvd drive, bluetooth ports, and so on, how can it be so meaningful but an absurd eye candy?

In that sense, Asus Eee-PC and HP Mini-note seem to strike a chord with another big portions of users who want to see a true "mini" notebook with all the necessities.

Bill Vaughn has a couple of good remarks on the subject of New Year:
